Spotlight on Business - Small Wonders Enrichment Center, White House TN
This month's spotlight on business is Small Wonders Enrichment Center located in White House, TN. Small Wonders began in 1999 and has 9 caregivers on staff that provide direct care for 74 children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years.
Small Wonders provides enrichment for daycare, after school care, and a curriculum for pre-school. When asked what their greatest strength is, without hesitation, Leslie Qualls, director, answered "their pre-school program."
What began as a way to be closer to home and family has certainly flourished into a successful business. Helen Redding, owner, has seen lots of changes and growth over the years without any formal marketing, simply by word of mouth. That reputation means something to the White House community. They are currently looking to change and upgrade their facility to accommodate that growth.
There have been challenges along the way, like state regulations, and cultural differences. Operating a building to house this number of children in and of itself brings obstacles to overcome. But that doesn't stop this team from moving forward to achieve their goals. The staff goes over and beyond to create an environment that fosters the welfare of your children in a positive way. The reward? Besides the personal growth, ask any elementary school teacher in White House if a child who came from Small Wonders was ready for Kindergarten. You will hear "Yes!" every time.
Upcoming events - Annual Easter Event with an egg hunt Thursday, March 24. All parents are encouraged to participate.
