Do you know the mission statement for Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County? Their mission is "Seeking to put God's love into action, we bring people together to build homes, communities and hope."

On September 11th our team participated in a Day of Service & Rememberance, which helped a dream come true for a deserving family. The opening ceremony began with a Presentation of Colors by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 240 of Sumner County, Opening Prayer by Jim Hawkins, Habitat Board Member, Pledge of Allegiance by Fran Marcou, SAR President and the National Anthem sang by Lori Weiss. A welcome by Paige Brown, Mayor of Gallatin, recognition of First Responders by Don Bandy, Gallatin Chief of Police, recognition of Military Service by David Moomy, Post Commander, VFW Post #9851.

The first wall raised was by all Veterans, Military Personnel, and First Responders. Within no time all the walls were up and most of the trusses before the rain forced us to come to a halt. It was a good day of team work and a gratifying experience for all.
